Hard Water

Water that has a high level of dissolved minerals such as calcium and magnesium is called hard water. You maybe even felt the effects of hard water the last time you washed your hands. Because of the hardness of the water, you may have felt that there is a film of residue left on your hands. When you're using hard water the soap will react with the calcium and they will form soap scum. If you're using hard water then you know that more soap or detergent needs to be used to clean things properly. When you get the dishes out of the dishwasher you will see the spots on them. If hard water is heated then it will form deposits of calcium carbonate. This will reduce the life of your equipment such as washing machine, dishwasher, coffee maker and it will lower of efficiency of water heaters. Over time it will also clog the pipes. When you get out of the shower your skin will feel dry and itchy, and it will suck out the volume out of your hair.

Bacteria in water

When we look at the water it looks clean most of the time and we assume that it's healthy to drink it but it can contain bacteria, viruses, and parasites that we can't see. The only way to find out if your water has bacteria or other dangerous viruses is to get it tested. Bacteria in water can cause a lot of health problems such as diarrhea, headaches, fever, fatigue, and even death in some cases. People that have a weak immune system as well as children and older people are more likely to have health problems from bacteria and viruses in the water.

Chlorine in water

Not all microorganisms that are found in rivers, lakes, and groundwater can make harm to our health but there are some of them that can make us sick. Those microorganisms that can make us sick are called pathogens.
Chlorine has been proven to be effective against viruses and bacteria. Chlorine damages the cell membrane of microorganisms and that way inactivates them. Chlorine enters the cell and disrupts cell respiration and DNA activity once the cell membrane is weakened. Those are the two processes that a cell needs to survive). There is not a specific time when you can do chlorination.
Cloudy water
The excess particles present in your water supply will make your water cloudy as a result. Depending on the cause, this can be either temporary or more permanent.

Rotten Egg Smell

Hydrogen sulfide or "rotten egg" smell as it is called is one of the most commonly reported water problems. This can be a huge problem because it can cause huge damage to the pipes in your house and if this is not treated it can make the water you drink make unsafe for drinking.
